Beam Reach

Thank you for beginning the application process. We will email you shortly with news about the upcoming programs that interest you. If you are eligible, we’ll send you a guide to completing the application process. In the interim, you can begin to prepare the documents that will support your application:

1. Resume
2. Transcripts: unofficial electronic versions from all colleges you’ve attended (and high schools if you’ve yet to complete two years of college).
3. Two reference letters: one academic, one personal, neither friends nor relatives.
4. Essay: prepare to write a short essay (about 500 words or 1-2 pages) that addresses the following questions:
   1. How did you learn about Beam Reach?
   2. Why does the research theme of this particular program interest you?
   3. What are your academic, career, and personal goals and how do you expect to further them at Beam Reach?

You should also consider the criteria by which your application will be reviewed:

• academic and personal maturity
• ability to cooperate in a group and contribute to a community
• potential as an independent field researcher

Be sure to prepare supporting documents that clarify and evidence how well you meet each criterion!

Complete applications are due by the first Monday of each month. We review applications by mid-month and send out responses by the end of each month.
