More about program dates

Beam Reach offers a 10-week program in the fall or spring. Programs dates fit within most academic calendars — semesters, quarters, or blocks — and overlap strategically with the season when killer whales reside in Washington State.

The Beam Reach academic calendar shows the planned dates of the land and sea components of upcoming programs.  While it is not likely, it is possible that dates may change.

More about credits

Courses are approved for 18 quarter credits (12 semester credits) by the University of Washington (UW). You can graduate on time by using the credits on your official UW transcript to satisfy requirements at your home school. You may also arrange to use your Beam Reach research project to satisfy major requirements, like senior theses or capstone projects. When you meet with your academic advisor the Beam Reach curriculum description may provide helpful information.

More about costs

While it is not likely, it is possible that the total program costs for a particular program may change.  Financial assistance is available, either as a reduction in program costs from Beam Reach or from external scholarships, grants, and loans.
